Mrs Vernon back.

I have had a fabulous time overseas seeing and learning new things. We have visited many places and seen many things.  It has certainly made us realise although there are many beautiful places in the world there are also many poor countries where life is very hard especially for the children.  We are so lucky to be in New Zealand.  On a personal note we have come back to our daughters news of engagement and sadly Grandad Vernon passed away last week.  Ecclesiates 3:1-4 really sums up that there is "A Time for Everything" and this is the theme for our class liturgy on Wednesday.  Its been great catching up with all that has been going on in Room 5.  Please dont hesitate to see me if you have any concerns or questions.  Thanks Bev Vernon

News update

Room 5 has been busy making Photo Stories on the computer about Camp Experiences. These will soon be put on a DVD for family and friends to enjoy. We have been working hard at our multiplication and division. Learning about the Water Cycle has been fun. We tried to make a cloud in class but this was unsuccessful, however we did make some rain. School Mass had a great Room 5 turn out. Mrs Vernon is going overseas to see relatives and to explore some new places. Mr Wright is looking forward to relieving our wonderful class. Holidays are looming up for everyone along with the winter weather. Children have been busy and some school supplies such as pencils, pens, glue and books need to be replaced. Thank you to parents for their support.

Circle Time

Today we had circle time with Mrs Hutchinson.
Circle time has 5 skills.
Looking
Listening
Speaking
Concentrating
Thinking
Circle time has 2 rules.
Sit still while other people are talking.
Listen when someone is talking
We can sort out problems in circle time.
We played a game called rainbow which is like midnight.
We played a listening game where one person is blind folded and someone has to try and get the treasure without being pointed too.

Today is St Patricks Day

St Patrick was born in England. His real name was Maewyn Succat. When he was 16 he was captured by pirates and he was taken to Ireland. He was a slave in Ireland and had to look after sheep and pigs. He prayed a lot every day. He escaped Ireland after 6 years and went to France. He got really hungry so he prayed for food and some pigs appeared for him to eat. He became a Priest and then a Bishop. He returned to Ireland and taught people about God. He used a shamrock to teach about the father, son and holy spirit. St Partick was 74 when he died on 17th March.
